Choral Workshops
Luke offers inclusive workshops for singers of all ages and skill levels. He brings a fun, uplifting style of teaching all centred on a message of collective action and people power. He uses both his original songs and a selection from his favourite eco songwriters to craft a choral experience that is uniquely moving and inspiring. A standard two hour workshop includes:
Warm up exercises
Practices around Natural Singing and finding ones’ home voice
1-2 songs in the round for easy learning, further warm up and vocal exploration
Workshopping 3 of Luke’s songs
Facilitating themes of activism, ecology and social change

Materials provided in workshops
Luke provides the following to create seamless workshops and performances:
6 Songs arranged in simple 3 part harmony, written at a community choir level
Sing-a-long guide tracks for each of the 6 songs (seperated for each part)
4 songs arranged by renowned composer Shawn Kirchner written at a more challenging but still learnable level. These are great for auditioned choirs or those with more time to learn.
Lyrics for each song
Luke can teach many of these songs without advanced preparation. He is well seasoned in teaching songs and facilitating gatherings without any preparation; turning audiences into choirs and strangers into friends.
Choral Performance
Luke has a deep history of collaborative concerts with choirs in both Canada and the US. These often emerge as a shared evening of performance where the host choir sings 4 - 8 songs, Luke then sings a few songs solo, and then the choir and Luke come together to sing 2-3 of Luke’s songs to wrap up the night. The structure of these concerts is highly flexible. This is a great option for choirs looking to fill out their spring or fall concert, or to add a theme of activism and ecology to their repertoire.
